Once again, the Ibero-american fiesta in Holguin
The Ibero-American Fiesta of the city of the Parks will be held from October 24 to 30.
This year’s festival is dedicated to the Bicentennial of the Independence of the Latin American countries, to the 50 anniversary of the foundation of the Cuban Friendship Institute (ICAP), and the tenth years of the World Food Program (WFP)."
The program of activities includes the fourth Iberian-American Congress of Thought, to be held October 25 to 27 in the Pernik hotel, colloquiums, as well as different cultural spaces such as the Ibero-American Colloquium of Arts, space that will provide debates on the works by writers Jose Lezama Lima and Miguel Hernandez, Spanish poet twice evoked by the singer Joan Manuel Serrat and not a few Cuban troubadours.
During the event Papyrus Publishing House will launch a new book collection called "Cubanos para llevar", which consists of several texts published in handmade paper, carefully packaged, that comprises poems written by Lezama Lima.
The Ibero-American fiesta will also support the cause of the Cuban Five, unjustly imprisoned in US jails, and for such reason local artists are preparing an eight hour concert for peace next October 29 dedicated to Gerardo, Rene, Fernando, Antonio and Ramon, internationally known as the Cuban Five.
It is expected the participation of writers from different countries, local artists, intellectuals, and guests from other Cuban provinces.
