Holguin charms foreign tour operators

During the promotional activities held in Holguin over the weekend, linked to the 30th International Tourism Fair FITCUBA 2010, foreign tour operators charmed the tourist facilities and the hospitality of the people from this city, also called the city of the parks.

The delegation freely retraced the streets of Holguin, visited La Periquera museum, where original works of Ecuadorian painter Guayasamín are exhibited, and at the Caligari Art Center, they enjoyed paintings by Picasso and major Cuban artists.

The visitors also enjoyed climbing the Loma de la Cruz Hill, overlooking the city, where people can spot the main streets, buildings and other places of the city of Holguin, that holds the third largest population density rate in the country.

The program of activities of FITACUBA 2010 also included a tour of the most important hotels of the northern coast of the territory, such as Playa Pesquero, Esmeralda and Guardalavaca.

At Villa Mirador Mayabe, the only place in the world where a donkey drinks beer, visitors learned more about the richest traditions of the Cuban countryside and tasted Creole food.

A special performance by Cuban singer David Blanco and the presence of Cuban painter Cosme Proenza were well-received gifts. The visitors expressed their satisfaction about this tourist destination with a great potential for further development.
