October 12, Christopher Colombus and Confrontation of Cultures

It was in October 12, 1492, when Spanish sailors led by Christopher Columbus on board three ships La Niña, La Pinta and Santa Maria, came to our continent and then, the confrontation of cultures and the fusion of races occured.

The cry of “land” released by Rodrigo de Triana began the historical events of violence and destruction where communities of natives took the worst part, colonized by the newcomers and later by local oligarchies and foreign companies, that have maintained a slavery for over 500 years to their descendants marginalized and in total oblivion, using new approaches such as globalization and free Trade.

Today marks 518 years of the arrival of Christopher Columbus, who broke into the new world to those who came with the admiral and those who arrived later, made change by force the course of history, which would couple magical realism of the wilderness.
