"Pico de Oro" festival again in Holguin

Cuban storytellers are gathering by these days in the city of parks to mark the sixth narration festival “Pico de Oro”.

This year's festival has as special guest Nelson Dorr, National Theatre Award 2010 and one of the most prestigious Cuban playwrights.

The program of activities for the meeting includes an encounter with art instructors, presentations and shows at the House of Story, a cultural project located in the foothills of Loma de la Cruz linking neighbors and all educational institutions of the community.

Sponsored by the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba in Holguin, the event is dedicated to the life and work of Felix Varona, renewed cultural promoter and manager of this event.

Its main venue is the eastern town of Velasco, the home of Varona, a name that carries the iconic Culture Center of this territory that was designed by American architect Walter Betancourt.

The activities will reach the agricultural region, where artists, art instructors and musicians attending the meeting, portend a festival of stories and songs designed for everyone and especially for children.
